Jimmy MacCarthy is a lifelong conservationist with a special interest in terrestrial wildlife. Before starting the Master of Environmental Management (MEM) program at Duke, he worked for the Tropical Ecology Assessment and Monitoring Network at Conservation International, studying the impacts of climate and land-use change on communities of ground-dwelling mammals and birds in tropical forests across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
