Update: Manuscript rejection

A couple of weeks ago, I got word that the manuscript I’ve prepared about my Master’s project was rejected.  I tried to look on the bright side, I was feeling a bit blue about the whole thing.  A few days ago, though, my awesome lab and office mate, Anna, shared with me this news article from Nature. It describes a study that followed a huge number of manuscripts submitted to biological science journals.  The researchers found that papers resubmitted after first being rejected tended to be cited more than papers accepted after the first try.

The take home message here is that the peer review process works; taking feedback of reviewers (though sometimes frustrating) helps to make scientific papers better.

Anyway, back to the revisions!
