We wanted to introduce the captain and the crew on the R/V Sally Ride earlier, but what better time than after that remarkably executed rescue  (see A Rescue in the Equatorial Pacific, posted on May 1st). A big shout-out to the skilled men and women who – when not responding to vessels in distress – make scientific data and sample collection possible on a daily basis!
