Janet Larsen is an environmental analyst working to connect the dots among trends in climate, energy, water, agriculture, and security. She currently is studying in the Duke Environmental Leadership – Master of Environmental Management (DEL-MEM) program. In her professional life, she is working with clients to understand environmental problems and find sustainability solutions. In directing the research program at the Earth Policy Institute for 14 years, Janet has covered a range of topics, from bike sharing and bottled water to food security, forest cover, and crop yields. She is a co-author of The Great Transition: Shifting from Fossil Fuels to Solar and Wind Energy, published by W.W. Norton in 2015. Prior to the creation of Earth Policy Institute, Janet worked at the Worldwatch Institute. She has done fieldwork looking at salt-tolerant plants on the Chilean Coast and poison dart frogs in the Peruvian Amazon. Janet continues to enjoy the outdoors near to and far from her home in Washington, D.C., where she lives with her husband and preschool aged daughter.
