‘A Christmas Song’ To Warm Your Holiday

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost melting where he froze
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
And Eskimos dressed up in summer clothes
Everybody knows a turkey and lots of CO2
Was the Copenhagen brew
And tiny states with Senators two
Make a climate bill’s chances few
Skeptics say ice age is on its way
While scientists’ email says with data they play
Yet every data set and glacier it seems
Says global warming could make our children scream
And so, I’m offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Though climate change may haunt future Yuletide days
“Merry Christmas to you”
