Be the first on your block to cook with your green car.

Did you hear the news?  Electric vehicles will soon double as cookstoves and more. All you’ll need is a battery capable of discharging 1500 watts. Said one analyst about this new development, EVs “have an advantage, more than ever.”

I’ll second that. In honor of this new development, let’s do a flash mob.

Where: Durham Bull’s Stadium

When: Sunday, July 24, 2011, 3PM (2 hours before game time)

What: Cook wieners on your electric vehicle.

  • Saturday morning: Go to a dealership and buy an electric vehicle.
  • Saturday afternoon: Figure out how to increase battery discharge capacity to 1500 watts.
  • Saturday night: Get on the road to Durham.

I’ll see you there with my dogs, my buns, my spicy mustard and sauerkraut, and my tongue in my cheek.

The rest of you have a good weekend.
