Bukit Timah

Yesterday we hiked to the top of Singapore, in the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, the last patch of primary rain forest left on the island.  It is only 163 m tall, but in 90% humidity it certainly was quite a trek.  We were all soaked in sweat by the time we got to the top.

Our group that made it to the top

But as a reward we got a delicious brunch of Pradas and Thosis, sort of an Muslim/Indian version of crepes – sweet or savory.  Nik was daring and got a Durian Prada, we all tasted it.  For the stinkiest fruit in the world, it wasn’t bad.

We’ve got to run,  we are headed off to Malaysia for a few days to snorkel in coral reefs.  We’ll report back soon.
