Matthew has worked on sea turtles since 1989, and is interested in their behavior, physiology, and conservation. He is also interested in sustainable use and social justice issues related to marine conservation. He spent a few months coordinating data collection of leatherback nests at Sandy Point in St. Croix in the mid-1990s, and is keen to go back to see the recent successes of this project.
