Sarah Zoubek is interning for the United Nations at their Headquarters in New York in their Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA). Within UNDESA, Sarah is working for the Division of Sustainable Development on a project helping post-conflict countries integrate sustainable development principles into their national planning. In addition, this summer UNDESA is hosting the Rio +20 Conference on Sustainable Development, the twenty year follow-up to the Rio Earth Summit in 1992. The Conference talks place on June 20th-22nd, and Sarah will be assisting with preparations leading up to the conference, attending the negotiations, and contributing to follow-up efforts after the event.
