About Savannah

Savannah is a PhD Candidate in the University Program in Environmental Health and Toxicology and the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department. Her research with Claudia K. Gunsch focuses on using fungi and bacteria to remove toxic compounds from the environment. Savannah is passionate about pollution remediation, environmental and public health, and environmental justice. In Defining Duke Environment, Savannah will introduce you to cutting-edge research and technology developed by Duke Environment faculty, students and staff. It will also feature profiles of PhD and MEM students to introduce you to the diversity of and opportunities within the Duke Environment community.
