Good COP, Bad COP

NGOs versus NGOs

Uniformity is not the environmental community’s strength

A very interesting dynamic was developing last night within the environmental nonprofit community — and that was before today’s meltdown in the negotiations.  For the global nonprofits, there was no shortage of vitriol for the lack of progress in these negotiations.  Nothing is happening worth a darn in their eyes, and it is far insufficient.  In contrast, the U.S. environmental groups were trying to squeeze out as much hope of progress as they could from the discussions, in order to favorably influence U.S. legislators.  The disconnect is helping neither, as one group is used to impeach the other.
