An Adventure in Copenhagen: Assistens Kirkegard (with video)
by -- December 11th, 2009

Here lies an individual.

I traveled over to Assistens Kirkegard to check out Kierkegaard’s final resting place and discovered that the Danish church must still have it in for him.  Trying to find his grave is no small feat.  Hans Christian Andersen is also buried here and the sign ratio for Andersen and Kierkegaard’s respective gravestones is about 8 to 1.  However, after a bit of wandering in the cemetery I was able to find the Kierkegaard family plot.

The graveyard is a magical thoroughfare in the city where the lives of the dead mingle with the denizens of Copenhagen.

Walking through cemetaries is a hobby for me. Thanks for the video of one in Copenhagen.
